Clyde program looks at ‘Jesus and Judaism’

Dr. Joseph Kelly will give a presentation titled “Jesus and Judaism” at St. John School in Clyde at 6 p.m. April 1.

Kelly’s talk will be the eighth and final presentation in the 2006-07 Family Education Program, which is sponsored by St. John the Evangelist Parish in Clyde and St. Patrick Parish in Savannah. Kelly is a professor of religious studies at Nazareth College in Pittsford and was formerly a professor of Hebrew Scriptures at St. Bernard’s School of Theology and Ministry, also in Pittsford.

Catholics should learn more about Judaism so they can understand how that faith helped form Jesus, noted Father James Hewes, pastor of the Clyde and Savannah parishes.

For more information, contact St. John the Evangelist Parish at 315/923-3941.
