Donors still have time to contribute to both the Catholic Ministries Appeal (CMA) as well as the "Our Legacy, Our Future, Our Hope" capital campaign.
CMA is the annual initiative that funds departments, programs, services and ministries in the Diocese of Rochester. As of March 26 the campaign had raised $5.31 million toward its goal of $5.825 million, according to David Kelly, CMA coordinator and associate director of the diocesan Department of Stewardship and Communications. Contributions will be accepted through May 31.
Meanwhile, Kelly said the Legacy campaign has garnered approximately $750,000 toward the $3.5 million goal for its public phase that began in January. Combined with previous private donations, total contributions have now reached approximately $11.5 million toward the overall goal of $14 million. The campaign, which will continue until "later this spring," according to Kelly, seeks to supplement seminarians’ educational costs and fully fund the pensions of priest retirees.
"We continue to be amazed at the generosity," Kelly said in lauding the response to both fundraising efforts.
