Best-selling author and national commentator Jim Wallis will speak on "Working for the Greater Good" at 7 p.m. Sept. 21 at Asbury First United Methodist Church, 1050 East Ave., Rochester. Before and after Wallis’ keynote speech, the GRCC Faith in Action Network will host a ministry and volunteer fair featuring more than 50 exhibitors and agencies offering local volunteer opportunities.
There also will be informal circle conversations before and after the talk on social-justice issues.
Wallis recently served on the President’s Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships and serves as the chair of the Global Agenda Council on Faith for the World Economic Forum.
Wallis’ talk is being hosted by Flower City Habitat for Humanity and Heritage Christian Services.
