Corning parish seeks participants for walk

Participants are being sought for the annual Corning Crop Walk for hunger awareness and relief.

The event will take place Sunday, Oct. 22, beginning at 2 p.m. Walkers may walk all or a portion of the six-mile course.

In 2005, representatives of All Saints Parish raised $4,610. The overall total for Corning was $14,747, of which 25 percent went to local food pantries.

To recruit, walk, volunteer or sponsor a walker for the upcoming event, call Linda Crowe at 607/527-8238.

Crop Walk, which stands for Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty, is a national, ecumenical initiative of Church World Service.
