Joseph Tobia, principal of All Saints Academy in Corning since July 2012, is retiring from that position as of early 2015.
In a Nov. 4 letter to school parents/guardians, Deacon Dean Condon, pastoral administrator of All Saints Parish, noted that a new principal is slated to be hired by late December and will have an overlap period with Tobia in January.
Prior to his arrival at All Saints, Tobia served more than 30 years as a teacher and administrator in public schools, and was principal of Corning-Painted Post East High School from 2004 until retiring from the public-school system in 2012.
He is a 1971 graduate of St. Mary School — the building where All Saints Academy is located — as well as an active member of All Saints Parish.
