Married couples can renew their vows and share their joy through two related initiatives in the Diocese of Rochester this spring.
Couples are invited to renew their matrimonial vows with Bishop Salvatore R. Matano during the diocese’s annual Marriage Recognition Mass at 2 p.m. May 8 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 296 Flower City Park, Rochester.
Couples celebrating milestone jubilees this year will be specially recognized at the Mass.
Couples celebrating 25, 50 or 50-plus years of marriage this year also can be included in a listing of wedding anniversaries in the June print and online editions of the Catholic Courier.
Those wishing to attend the diocesan Mass must register online at https://conta.cc/3IDXmKu. Anyone experiencing difficulties registering should contact Donald Smith, coordinator of sacramental catechesis and family life, at donald.smith@dor.org.
The online registration form for the Marriage Recognition Mass also includes the option to add wedding details for inclusion in the Courier’s June anniversary listing.
However, couples who cannot attend the liturgy may submit their information directly to the newspaper by emailing Weddings@CatholicCourier.com or via postal mail addressed to: Wedding Anniversaries, Catholic Courier, PO Box 24379, Rochester, NY 14624-0379.
Please include the full names of husband and wife, the wedding date and year, and the church and town where married. Those submitting to the Courier by email or postal mail are invited to attach or include continuous-tone (unscreened) prints or digital images of at least 1 MB in size for possible publication. Note that this option is not available via the registration form for the Marriage Recognition Mass.
Due to the anticipated volume of listing requests, the Courier will not be able to follow up on or publish submissions that do not include all requested details.
The deadline for submission to the Courier is April 30; submissions cannot be accepted after deadline.
