Courier to hold coloring and art contest

The Catholic Courier is once again holding a coloring contest and an art contest for children ages 3-12, which opens for submissions on Nov. 2, 2016.

The coloring contest is open to children between the ages of 3 and 6 years old and is broken into two age brackets.  Interested children and their parents or teachers can download and print the picture by Courier Graphic Artist Linda Rivers. After coloring the picture, parents can take a picture of their child’s completed artwork and email that picture to newsroom@catholiccourier.com (Attention: Coloring Contest) starting on Nov. 2. Entries will NOT be accepted by mail and ALL entries must be in by Nov. 30. Entries received after Nov. 30 will NOT be accepted.

Our art contest is open to children between the ages of 7 and 12 years old and is broken into two age brackets. Interested children are asked to create their best replica of the nativity scene using whatever supplies they want.  They can use arts/crafts supplies, computer design programs, household items (like shoeboxes, egg cartons, etc.). Once they have created their project, parents can take a picture of it and email that picture to newsroom@catholiccourier.com (Attention: Art Contest) starting on Nov. 2. Entries will NOT be accepted by mail and ALL entries must be in Nov. 30. Entries received after Nov. 30 will NOT be accepted.

Submissions will then be featured on the Courier’s website from Dec. 1-14, and readers may vote for their favorite submissions once a day during that time period. The winners will be announced Dec. 15 and all entries will appear in our online Advent Calendar.

Complete rules can be found here.
