Courier to livestream Steven Amenhauser’s funeral service

The Catholic Courier will be livestreaming the funeral service for the Rochester man who died after police say he was intentionally set on fire by two teenagers.

The service for Steven Amenhauser, 53, will be celebrated Wednesday, March 31, at 10 a.m. at Holy Apostles Church on Austin Street. Father Anthony Mugavero, pastor of Holy Apostles, will preside over the service.

Amenhauser, who lived in the Lyell Avenue neighborhood near the church, died March 16, just days after Rochester Police say he was intentionally set on fire inside his apartment. Police say Amenhauser had no family.

“I am glad that we can prayerfully put Steven to rest,” Father Mugavero said in a statement. “It is one more testimony that love and goodness will continue to triumph over evil.”
