Blessed Sacrament Parish’s powerhouse Catholic Youth Organization basketball teams of the 1960s will be honored at the fifth-annual Adult Recreation Association Hall of Fame Sports Banquet. The event will take place Sunday, May 15 at 5 p.m. at The Brook House, Elmridge Plaza, Greece. Tickets may be purchased at the door for $35 each.
Blessed Sacrament’s high-school squad, under Coach Tom Cotton, had a phenomenal record of 129-3 over a four-season stretch between 1963 and 1967 and also posted records of 17-3 in 1962-63 and 29-4 in 1967-68. Blessed Sacrament won 60 straight league games and captured numerous titles, including diocesan championships in 1965-66 and 1966-67.
