Deacon’s history book on Holocaust, Catholics is honored

Deacon Anthony Sciolino received the 2013 Independent Publishers Book Awards’ silver medal for world history May 29 in New York City for his book The Holocaust, the Church and the Law of Unintended Consequences, which was published in December 2012 by iUniverse.

The book examines the 2,000-year history of Christian anti-Judaism and how it helped pave the way for the rise of Adolf Hitler’s Third Reich and the killing of 6 million Jews.

Deacon Sciolino, who is a retired Monroe County Family Court Judge, lives in Pittsford with his wife, Gloria.
