To the editor:
Elizabeth Maloney’s letter, "Disturbed by TV ad" (Jan. 2011) was critical of what she considered the military’s version of their role in protecting our nation.
Her view that we continue to "stir up prejudice against people from the Middle East and especially Muslim’s" is false. She seems oblivious to the fact that Muslim Jihadists have declared Holy War on all infidels.
This includes Christians and even other Muslims who do not accept their version of Islam.
While U.S. forces attempt to target Jihadists, the Jihadists target civilians and use women and children as suicide bombers.
Protecting our nation is a never-ending task. Fortunately we have brave patriotic men and women ready to do that job.
They deserve our support and respect. Let us not help the Jihadists by overlooking the great work of our armed forces.
