DeSales holds open house, entrance exam

DeSales High School in Geneva will hold its annual open house for prospective students Nov. 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the school gymnasium.

Dr. Karen Juliano, principal, will greet guests before they break into groups for tours of the school. During the tours, each group will visit with representatives from the business, computer, English, fine arts, foreign language, guidance, health and physical education, library, math, religion, science and social studies departments. After the tours, guests will be invited to the cafeteria, where there will be refreshments and information about clubs and extracurricular activities at DeSales.

Eighth-grade students interested in attending DeSales as a freshman in September 2005 are invited to take the school’s entrance exam, which will be offered Dec. 4 at 8 a.m. The entrance exam helps school staff award scholarships and plan for a student’s academic placement. A coffee hour and question-and-answer session will be held from 7:45-8:45 a.m. for parents of students taking the exam.

Students are encouraged to register for the exam ahead of time, although walk-ins are welcome. For more information or to register, contact the school’s guidance office at 315/789-5111, ext. 204.
