To the editor:
47 million, 282 thousand babies aborted since 1973. Our Pastor mentioned six minutes of quiet time/prayer daily during Lent. Why not direct this time/prayer to end abortions, as prayer for the babies killed and as prayer for lives affected by abortion?
We read, see and hear about parents, families and friends grieving over the death of a loved one taken away too soon. During Lent, why not take six minutes a day to also grieve for the innocent babies killed in their mother’s womb? The womb should protect growing babies not terminate their lives.
Think of a parent’s tears over losing a child. Think of our Blessed Mother’s tears on Good Friday at the foot of the cross with her son, Jesus, in her arms. Think of the tears our Blessed Mother sheds just because a mother has a choice. Think of the tears we all should be shedding for these babies. Think of 47 million, 282 thousand babies. Whether you follow Lent or not, are non-Christian or Christian, remember these babies during six minutes of prayer/quiet time.
