To the editor:
A news item in the Dec. 15 issue of The Tablet, an influential Catholic weekly published in London, notes that Bishop Thomas Mc Mahon, 76, of Brentwood, "who has served for 32 years," is "Britain’s longest serving diocesan bishop."
That prompts my question: Has not our own Bishop Matthew Clark, who has served 33 years, achieved some such record on the American scene?
