The 2014-15 Catholic Ministries Appeal raised $5.67 million toward its $5.990 million goal.
More than 28,800 donors contributed to the campaign, which for the eighth consecutive year topped the $5 million mark, said David Kelly, campaign coordinator.
Proceeds from the appeal support numerous programs, services and ministries in the 12-county diocese. The theme for this year’s CMA, which ended May 31, was “Attitude of Gratitude.”
"I am deeply grateful to all those who so graciously and generously supported this year’s Catholic Ministries Appeal," Bishop Salvatore R. Matano said in a statement. "By sharing their blessings, they have positively affected the lives of our sisters and brothers in need and enriched their lives. It is this caring spirit and commitment to building up the Body of Christ that makes our Church so strong and vibrant."
