The Diocese of Rochester has appointed Noëlle M. Hiester as the new director of the Office of Evangelization and Catechesis.
Prior to her appointment, Hiester served as the parish office manager at St. Mary Catholic Church in Alexandria, Va. In addition, she was a lecturer in evangelization and catechesis at Notre Dame Graduate School of Christendom College, teaching both classroom and online classes in administration for catechetical leaders and methodology of catechesis and evangelization.
Earlier in her career, Hiester served as a catechist at Divinum Auxilium Academy in Front Royal, Va.; assistant director of religious education at St. Bernadette Parish in Springfield, Va.; finance and operations manager for Barry Communications in Worcester, Mass.; and as a teacher at the Trivium School in Lancaster, Mass.
Hiester has a master of arts degree in theology from Notre Dame Graduate School of Christendom College, and a master’s degree in business administration and bachelor of arts degree in humanities and Catholic culture from Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio.
Hiester will begin her new position on Sept. 28. She succeeds Anthony S. Cook III, who will continue to serve as superintendent of Catholic schools.
