Thomas (TJ) Verzillo has been named the new principal of Holy Cross School in Rochester. He succeeds Mary Martell, who had served as principal since 2013.
Verzillo comes to Holy Cross from All Saints Academy in Corning, where he was principal the past three years. He also taught at the former St. Monica School in Rochester from 2000-08 and the former Cathedral School at Holy Rosary in Rochester from 2008-09. In addition, he spent six years as operations and education director for the Volunteers of America Children’s Center, also in Rochester, overseeing the Universal Pre-Kindergarten and Head Start programs for approximately 300 children while supervising a teaching staff of 60 members.
Replacing Verzillo at All Saints Academy is Mary Ann Lacey, who has more than 20 years of teaching experience at various grade levels at All Saints.
