Diocese of Rochester parishes will offer 2022 pet blessings

Pet blessings are being offered at a number of diocesan parishes to honor the Oct. 4 feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals.

Here is a listing of blessings, based on information provided in parish bulletins as of Sept. 22.

Saturday, Oct. 1

• Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 150 Varinna Drive, Rochester, 10 a.m.

• St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 3747 Brick Schoolhouse Road, Hamlin, 10 a.m. to noon

• St. John the Evangelist Church, 2400 W. Ridge Road, Greece, 10:30 a.m.

• St. Mark Church, 54 Kuhn Road, Greece, noon

• Holy Trinity Church, 1460 Ridge Road, Webster, noon

• St. Anthony Church, 312 Locke Road, Groton, 2 p.m.

• St. Mary Church (St. John Vianney Parish), 32 E. Morris St., Bath, 5:15 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 2

• All Saints Church, 347 Ridge Road, Lansing, 12:30 p.m.

• Our Mother of Sorrows Church (at the Our Lady of Fatima Grotto), 5000 Mt. Read Blvd., Greece, 12:30 p.m.

• St. Rita Church, 1008 Maple Drive, Webster, 1 p.m.

• St. Vincent de Paul Church (St. Martin de Porres Parish), 11 N. Main St., Churchville, 1 p.m.

• Parish of the Holy Family, 4100 Lyell Road, Gates, 2 to 3 p.m. (drive-through pet blessing)

• Holy Cross Church, 375 George Road, Freeville, 4 p.m.

• St. John the Evangelist, 55 Martha St., Spencerport, 4:15 p.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 4

• St. Francis Church (at the St. Francis outdoor shrine), 299 Clark St., Auburn, 4:30 p.m.

• Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish (faith-formation building), 1010 Davis St., Elmira, 5:30 p.m.

• St. Louis Church, 64 S. Main St., Pittsford, 5:45 p.m. (Participants are asked to bring a donation to support homeless animals in need at Lollypop Farm.)

• St. Mary Our Mother Church, 816 W. Broad St., Horseheads, 6 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 5

• St. Mary Church (St. Benedict Parish), 95 N. Main St., Canandaigua, following 9 a.m. daily Mass

Saturday, Oct. 8

• Guardian Angels Church (St. Marianne Cope Parish), 2061 E. Henrietta Road, Henrietta

• St. Charles Borromeo Church, 3003 Dewey Ave., Greece, 10 a.m.
