Diocese of Rochester tentatively reschedules deacon ordination

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Diocese of Rochester announced April 21 that Bishop Salvatore R. Matano has tentatively rescheduled the date of this year’s deacon ordination.

The deacon ordination originally was set to take place May 23. It has tentatively been rescheduled to Aug. 15 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Rochester. The new date is the Solemnity of the Assumption, which is not a holy day this year.

The diocese also announced that at this time the priest ordination remains scheduled for June 13 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Church in Corning, although that ordination also could be rescheduled.
