Astute viewers might have noticed a familiar face in a Walmart television commercial that’s been airing nationally over the past few weeks.

The commercial features Sister of Mercy Grace Miller, director of the House of Mercy, a homeless shelter, soup kitchen and food pantry in Rochester. In the commercial Sister Miller is shown talking with Ashlie Jones, operations manager of Rochester-based company The Perfect Granola. Jones also is a volunteer at the House of Mercy.

The commercial highlights the relationship between the House of Mercy and The Perfect Granola and is part of Walmart’s “American Ingenuity” series of commercials, which emphasize the company’s commitment to American manufacturers that support nonprofits in their own local communities.

The Perfect Granola donates 5 percent of its profits to homeless shelters, outreach centers and food banks, according to the granola company’s website. The company has donated both granola products as well as a portion of its proceeds to the House of Mercy.

“We’re so grateful to Perfect Granola for the wonderful, wonderful food,” Sister Miller tells Jones in the commercial. “We feed 450 people a day. We couldn’t do it without people like you and companies like yours who make donations.”
