Doctor to talk about successful aging

Dr. Kevin R. McCormick will talk with St. Catherine of Siena Parish’s discussion group about what constitutes "successful aging" and how we can be more likely to achieve this goal. The talk will be May 15 at 7 p.m. at the church, 26 Mendon Ionia Road, Mendon.

McCormick is a faculty member with the University of Rochester’s School of Medicine, and he is medical director of Geriatrics and Medicine Associates, which provides primary-care services for seniors in the Rochester area through Highland Hospital.

He has researched immune function and aging, depression in the elderly, doctor-patient communication and medical education. He created the "Care of the Older Patient" course, which is a required rotation for all interns in the UR department of medicine.
