Doris Sindoni; attended St. James, Waverly

A lifelong resident of Waverly, N.Y., Doris Sindoni, 83, died Nov. 2, 2006, in Troy Hospital, Troy, Pa.

A longtime member of St. James Church, she was employed as a bus driver and cafeteria monitor for the Waverly Central Schools until her retirement. In addition to being active in the church’s Altar Rosary Society, she volunteered at the Tioga Nursing Home for 14 years. As an avid sports fan, she was an active supporter of the Waverly Little League.

She was predeceased by her husband, Peter; brother, Erwin Cushing; and granddaughter, Tricia. She is survived by her daughters, Dawn Sindoni of Rochester; Sheree (David) Hogan of Kirkwood, N.Y.; and Linda Sampson of Waverly; her sons, Jim (Pat), Ricky, Anthony (Shirl), Joseph (Jane) and Andrew (Penny), all of Waverly; sisters, Ruth Rogers and Rita Cushing; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. James Church on Nov. 6, 2006, with burial in St. James Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 356 N. Midler Ave., Syracuse, NY 13206.
