Catholic Charities of Chemung County has announced the appointment of Thea Parker as program coordinator of the Samaritan Center in Elmira.
Parker, a lifelong resident of Chemung County, was previously employed by Catholic Charities’ Gateways Community Living Program. She began her new position Jan. 3.
The Samaritan Center, located at 380 S. Main St., is an emergency-services program offering food-pantry and clothing services in addition to prescription-drug assistance at low or no cost whenever possible. In 2005 the Samaritan Center provided aid more than 20,000 times in Chemung County.
