Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes will hold its third-annual Empty Bowls event Oct. 15 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Peace Parish Center, located on Center Street in Geneva.
Tickets for the event cost $20, and each participant will receive a handmade bowl full of soup, as well as bread, dessert and a drink. Participants may keep their bowls, and during the evening they will learn about local anti-poverty efforts. The bowls were crafted and donated by local artists and organizations, including the Rochester Folk Art Guild and the Geneva High School art department. Several Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes staff members worked with members of the Rochester Folk Art Guild to create some bowls over the summer.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes’ programs.
