Rochester’s Catholic Family Center will hold its 13th-annual Empty Bowls fundraiser on Oct. 20 to raise awareness of hunger and homeless in the Rochester area.
Individual donations as well as sales of more than 500 ceramic bowls donated by local artists raised more than $25,000 last year to help people in crisis, according to information from CFC. The bowls serve as a reminder that someone’s bowl in the community is always empty, CFC officials said.
The event includes a meal, beer and wine tastings, and a silent auction. A bowl also is included in the ticket price, which is $30 until Oct. 12 and $40 at the door.
