Eucharistic miracles highlight planned conference

An exhibition of posters at Sacred Heart Cathedral will detail the history of the Real Presence, organizers say.

The Vatican International Exhibition for Eucharistic Miracles will be displayed at the cathedral April 10, 11 and 12. The exhibition will include a free conference on the same days featuring Dominican Father Bernard Dupont. The conference will include confessions at 5 p.m., prayers at 6 p.m. with Mercy Sister Edith Francione, and Mass at 7 p.m. with Father Dupont, who also will preach afterward.

Lissette Dernier, a member of the Dominican Order and the Real Presence Association, said the exhibition at the cathedral will begin an East Coast tour. The exhibition has future stops scheduled in New York, Ohio, South Carolina, Pennsylvania and Delaware, and Dernier said she is planning others.

Dernier said she chose Rochester to be the first stop because it is her home diocese and she appreciates the spiritual support for the exhibition that she has been given so far.

“I have been very touched by my bishop (Bishop Matthew H. Clark) because he has approved this wonderful mission from Rome,” said Dernier, a parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle in Irondequoit. “So many people are falling away from believing in the Real Presence of our Lord in the Eucharist.”
