The Bishop Joseph Hogan Council No. 13194 of the Knights of Columbus will sponsor a steak dinner Sept. 30 at the St. Dominic Parish Center, 99 W. Main St., Shortsville.
During the dinner, Father Michael Hogan will share stories and reflections from his term as secretary to Bishop Fulton J. Sheen, who became an archbishop after leaving Rochester in 1969. A world-renowned figure, Archbishop Sheen died in 1979, and some are actively promoting the cause for his canonization.
Father Hogan is the brother of the late Bishop Joseph L. Hogan, who served as the seventh bishop of Rochester from 1969-78 and died in 2000.
The evening will begin with cocktails at 6 p.m., and dinner will be served at 7 p.m. The dinner will include New York strip steak, potatoes, salad, vegetables, rolls, beer and wine. Tickets are $20 per person and must be purchased by Sept. 21.
