Susan Erschen, director of Stewardship Education for the Archdiocese of St. Louis, will encourage local Catholics to contemplate stewardship as a way of life during the Diocese of Rochester’s Stewardship Day 2011, which will take place May 14 at St. Pius Tenth Church, 3010 Chili Ave. in Chili.
Bishop Matthew H. Clark will open the seventh-annual event with Mass at 8 a.m., and he’ll also give a short talk on "The Joy of Stewardship" at 9:30. After that Erschen, who has written numerous stewardship manuals and other resources, will give a keynote presentation about "Faithful and Generous: Teaching Stewardship, Practicing Development." The event also will include workshop sessions on communication and music as they relate to stewardship, as well as on teaching stewardship to youths. The day will end with closing prayer at 12:20 p.m., followed by a bonus workshop presentation by Our Sunday Visitor at 12:30.
The registration fee, which includes a continental breakfast, is $10 per person before May 3, and $12 per person after that date.
