Event will benefit Scottsville comfort-care home

The pastoral-planning group Five Saints West, which comprises St. Mary of the Assumption in Scottsville, St. Columba-St. Patrick in Caledonia, St. Vincent DePaul in Churchville and St. Christopher in North Chili, is developing a new comfort-care home called Patrick Place on the second floor of St. Mary’s rectory.

The parishes are raising funds for renovations to make the project possible and will host An Evening for Patrick Place from 6:30 to 11 p.m. March 13 at Genesee Country Village and Museum, 1410 Flint Road, Mumford. There will be food, music and a silent auction. Tickets are $60 and are available in the parish offices of the five parishes. Proceeds from the event will be used for rectory renovation, which is estimated to be $120,000. The home’s annual operating budget is estimated at around $100,000, and about 100 volunteers are needed to keep the home running.

Program advertising and silent auction donations are needed for the March 13 event. For details, call 585-889-3100, visit www.patrickplace.org or e-mail info@patrickplace.org.
