To the editor:
When I was younger, I used to live in Texas (1985). While I was there I purchased health insurance for $50 a month. This covered my family and if I wanted to purchase the same insurance for anyone who worked for me, it would cost me an additional $5 a month.
After a time I moved here to New York. I went to work at social services. On occasion I would help with insurance and found that some people were required to pay anywhere from a few hundred dollars to $700+ a month. These higher costs were due to laws enacted here in New York. I also found that I had to get prescriptions for many things I had gotten over the counter in Texas. I also had to see my doctor twice a year because of New York state law.
I guess my point is that we do need health reform in this country. We have to get government out of the business not take it over.
Some people want to give Ceasar the power to decide who lives and who dies. I for myself will put my faith in our Lord and God Jesus Christ.
