Faithful to join pope as he consecrates Russia, Ukraine to Mary

The Diocese of Rochester will join Pope Francis in prayer March 25 as he consecrates Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Bishop Salvatore R. Matano will celebrate Mass for the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 296 Flower City Park, Rochester, at 7 p.m. All are invited to attend this Mass.

Bishop Matano also is asking that the faithful pray the Memorare for this same intention on the nine days leading up to and including March 25:

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,

that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection,

implored thy help or sought thy intercession was left unaided.

Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee,

O Virgin of virgins, my Mother.

To thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful.

O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions,

but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.
