Church of the Assumption in Fairport remembered Rochester Police Officer Anthony Mazurkiewicz with a prayer vigil and ice cream social Aug. 22. Officer Mazurkiewicz, who was an Assumption parishioner, was shot and killed in the line of duty July 21 on Bauman Street in Rochester.
