Long Acre Farms and JD Wine Cellars in Macedon will host a benefit for Catholic Charities of Wayne County Sept. 9 from 5 to 9 p.m.
Those who participate in Tasting for Charity will sample the products of several wineries, including members of the Lake Ontario Wine Trail. A hayride and vineyard tour that evening will take guests around the corn maze to the vineyard, where they will be able to view the Marquette grapes beginning to grow, meet one of the vineyard’s owners and sample a Marquette wine.
They’ll also receive a reusable wine bag, a mini bottle of Blackberry Boogie from JD Wine Cellars and a commemorative wine glass. Non-alcoholic beverages and samples of locally produced foods also will be available. The evening also will include raffles and silent auctions.
The event will take place in the big red barn at Long Acre Farms/JD Wine Cellars, 1342 Eddy Road in Macedon. Guests should dress for the weather and wear casual attire, including jeans and sneakers if they wish.
Tickets may be purchased for $50 per person or $90 per couple. They may be purchased at Long Acre Farms/JD Wine Cellars or at the Catholic Charities of Wayne County office at 1141 E. Union St. in Newark. Tickets also may be purchased at the Gananda Pharmacy at 1205 Mayberry Place in Macedon.
