Father John Corapi to be featured on local call-in radio show

Father John Corapi, the main speaker at an Aug. 15 conference in Buffalo, will host a live call-in radio show once a week during the four weeks leading up to the conference.

A member of the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity, Father Corapi is a well-known and prolific speaker who preached at weekend conferences in 40 cities each year until 2008, when health issues forced him to discontinue these public presentations. His Webcasts and recorded lectures on the Catechism of the Catholic Church — which air weekly on EWTN Television — remain popular, however.

Father Corapi’s local call-in show will run from 5 to 6 p.m. on July 15, 22 and 29 and Aug. 5 on Rochester’s WHIC 1460-AM and Buffalo’s 101.7-FM, which both are operated by Holy Family Communications. Listeners who wish to call in and talk to Father Corapi should call 1-877-511-5483 during the listed times. Listeners also can tune into the show online at www.wlof.net.

Holy Family Communications is hosting the Aug. 15 conference, titled "Lord and Giver of Life: The Person and the Power of the Holy Spirit," in celebration of its 10th anniversary, and has recruited 80 priests to assist Buffalo Bishop Edward U. Kmiec as he celebrates Mass during the conference. During the daylong event Father Corapi will give four presentations, titled "Theology of the Person and Power of the Holy Spirit," "The Gift Who Contains All Gifts," "The Holy Spirit is Given to Those Who Obey," and "The Spirit We Have Been Given is No Cowardly Spirit."

More than 10,000 people from 45 states as well as Canada, Australia and the Philippines already have purchased tickets for the conference, which will take place at Buffalo’s HSBC Arena.

Tickets to the conference are still available and may be purchased by calling 1-888-223-6000 or visiting www.fathercorapilive.com. For more information about travel arrangements, call 1-888-716-8541.
