Father Lawrence J. Wroblewski, SJ, died Jan. 1, 2011, in Rochester. He was 66.
Father Wroblewski taught and served as an administrator at Rochester’s McQuaid Jesuit High School for 38 years.
A native of Brooklyn, he entered the order in Poughkeepsie on Aug. 14, 1962. He attended Loyola Seminary, Shrub Oak, N.Y. (1966-68), and received a master of divinity degree from Woodstock College. He also earned a master’s degree in English at Washington University in St. Louis.
He was ordained June, 8, 1974, and was a teacher and administrator at McQuaid from 1974-2010. In addition to teaching English and theology, he served the school in many ways as moderator of drama and of the Magis Program, assistant principal and dean of academics.
He is survived by two brothers, Dr. Ronald Wroblewski of North Babylon, N.Y., and Joseph Wroblewski of Brooklyn. His funeral Mass was celebrated Jan. 5, 2011, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Brighton. Burial was at the Jesuit Cemetery at Auriesville, N.Y.
