Good Old Doctor Mac, the latest book by Corning native Father Robert McNamara, is now available for purchase through All Saints Parish.
Father McNamara, 94, the longtime archivist and historian for the Diocese of Rochester, currently lives at the McAuley Residence in Rochester. His 132-page book, published by Devon Press of Utica, pays homage to his father, Dr. Thomas A. McNamara (1856-1927), a renowned doctor and community leader in Corning who served as the city’s mayor from 1908-10. A review of the book appeared in the Courier’s December monthly edition.
“It’s a sort of in-house family memoir, but the story has more than a family appeal,” said Father McNamara in the December Courier feature.
Copies of Good Old Doctor Mac, at $12.95 each, may be obtained at All Saints Parish’s central office, 222 Dodge Ave.
