To the editor:
About the camel and the straw, how many of us believe this story? What makes us rich? How do we react to being rich? Why do some people want to be rich and others do not? Is the camel story meaningful to us or perhaps a funny tale? And after all, it is one story. The Bible contains so many stories about so many things.
The Bible is about people. We need people so the song tell us, but who feeds the poor people? Why can’t we apply some of our tax money toward feeding the poor people?
Remember what Jesus said about poor people: “You will always have poor people with you, but I will be with you only a short while.”
I believe that anything in this world can deter us from our most important goal. This goal is to find Jesus and hold Him in our hearts so we can be with Him in heaven. To be able to find Jesus, we may need to feed some poor people along the way.
