Feeling Lent-y

Today marks the last day of Lent, and I must say I am feeling particularly Lent-y. It’s been a long 40 days (plus Sundays!) and I am ready for some resurrection times. But being ready for some resurrection doesn’t mean that I don’t still have some Good Friday ahead. Just because I may be ready for Easter doesn’t mean that I can skip over the cross. I am once again reminded that my time frame is not God’s time frame, that what I want is not always what I need and that there is no way to get to the resurrection without going through the cross. This is not a new revelation for me. But apparently it is a revelation that I must once again unpack a bit further. So on this last day of Lent I will grumble about this for a while, and then try to prepare myself for the Triduum. Blessings to all this Holy Week and throughout the coming days. May we come through our time with Jesus on the cross with a deeper appreciation of who we are called to become.
