On March 13, Catholic Family Center’s Catholic Youth Organization department presented its 50th annual cheerleading tournament at Rochester’s Aquinas Institute, featuring 12 Rochester-area squads from a total of eight schools and parishes. The fifth- through eighth-grade girls’ teams from Holy Cross, Charlotte; Our Mother of Sorrows, Greece; St. Rita’s, Webster; Christ the King, Irondequoit; St. Ambrose, Rochester; Siena Catholic Academy, Brighton; St. John the Evangelist, Greece; and Good Shepherd, Henrietta, competed for first-place award shirts and trophies in four different categories, two for the seventh- and eighth-grade division and two for the fifth- and sixth-grade division.
