Why don’t clergy recommend hiatus from handshakes, hugs?

To the editor:

Regarding human contact at Mass: Hugging and shaking hands with people may bring on the flu bug or whatever, but I am more afraid of the isolation our neighbors might have to endure for ignoring their friends.
