Several Southern Tier hunger-relief agencies are asking for various means of support.
Corning Food Pantry is seeking donations of canned spaghetti products and vegetables, and such personal items as toilet paper, body soap and dish soap. The pantry has moved to a new location at 35 W. William St. on the city’s north side and its new phone number is 607-962-6750. It was previously located for most of its history at the site of the former St. Patrick’s Church.
The Painted Post Churches Pantry is requesting monetary donations to buy food. The ministry distributed more than 32,000 pounds of food from January to June 2007. Donations can be sent to the pantry at 201 N. Hamilton St., Painted Post, NY 14870.
Loaves & Fishes in Ithaca is seeking volunteers. Among the advocates’ duties are to help make referrals for guests by filling out forms, or just lending a caring ear. Loaves & Fishes is located at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 210 N. Cayuga St. Call 607-272-5457.

Horseheads Food Pantry is requesting food and monetary donations due to low supplies. Food can be placed in a cart at St. Mary Our Mother Church. Checks, made payable to Horseheads Food Pantry, can be put collection baskets during Mass.
Tioga County Rural Ministry has moved to a new location at 143 North Ave., Owego. Its phone number is 607-687-3021. Pantry needs are macaroni and cheese, pancake mix and syrup, canned fruit, stuffing mix and toilet paper.
