Candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives 29th Congressional District will meet for a public forum Thursday, Sept. 9, from 7-9 p.m. at Rogers Hall, Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 115 E. High St., Painted Post.
The forum is being arranged by the diocesan Public Policy Committee. Invitations have been extended to four candidates seeking Rep. Amory Houghton’s seat due to Houghton’s impending retirement. They are Republicans Mark Assini and John R. Kuhl, and Democrats Jeremy Alderson and Samara Barend.
The 29th Congressional District covers Chemung, Steuben and Schuyler counties as well as Ontario, Yates, Cattaraugus, Allegany and southern Monroe.
