Four men were ordained as deacons during a May 28 ordination Mass at Rochester’s Sacred Heart Cathedral. Bishop Salvatore R. Matano ordained Deacon Thomas Jack as a permanent deacon, while Deacon’s Michael Merritt, Anthony Amato, and Juan Benitez were ordained as transitional deacons as they continue to prepare for the priesthood.
