All are invited to the 19th-annual Free Spaghetti Supper sponsored by the St. Anthony/St. Patrick parish cluster in Elmira. It will take place Thursday, June 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the cluster’s parish hall, 209 Front St. (off College Avenue just north of Washington Avenue).
The supper is open to all residents, regardless of religious affiliation or income level. It began as an initiative of St. Patrick’s in 1988 and moved to St. Anthony’s after the two parishes were clustered in 1994.
According to organizer Elaine Chamberlin, more than 600 meals were served by last year’s volunteer crew, which handled setup, cooking, serving and cleanup.
St. Anthony/St. Patrick is able to offer the supper at no cost through cash donations from parishioners, as well as contributions of desserts, bread and supplies.
