I’m used to drawing a lot of stares from young children when I show up with big cameras.
But I thought that wouldn’t be the case with a life-sized Frosty the Snowman walking around.
I was wrong.
Frosty joined Santa, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and local politicians for an annual tree-lighting ceremony outside St. Michael Church in Rochester Dec. 5. Children from a nearby child-care center and students from Schools 9 and 20 were all in the audience to enjoy the festivities.
Fifth grader Jose Cruz, center, practices the recorder with classmates from School 20 before the tree lighting ceremony.
Dressed as Santa Claus, Ray Santana from Penfield holds 4-year-old Ariel Hightower during the tree lighting ceremony.
