The Diocese of Rochester has announced funeral arrangements for Bishop Emeritus Matthew H. Clark, who died Sunday morning, Jan. 22, 2023, at the Sisters of St. Joseph Motherhouse in Pittsford.
He was 85 years old and had shepherded the Diocese of Rochester for 33 years before his 2012 retirement.
Bishop Clark’s funeral services will take place at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 296 Flower City Park, Rochester.
The bishop will lie in state for public visitation Sunday, Jan. 29, from 3 p.m. until evening prayer beginning at 7 p.m.
On Monday, Jan. 30, he will lie in state from 10 to 11:30 a.m. before his funeral Mass begins at noon.
Interment will be in the bishop’s crypt at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Rochester.
