Glad for his upbringing

To the editor:

After reading about declining attendance in our Catholic and other denominational churches by adult and youth today, I took a survey and found out some reasons:

"It’s not conducive to the world we live in."

"There is no religious parental upbringing."

"Many people are rejecting conventional Christian beliefs."

"Religious authority is being challenged."

"There’s a lack of motivation."

"Other things are given priority."

The list goes on and on. I’m glad I grew up during the Great Depression years the way I did with my five brothers and three sisters. Although times were tough and as hard as they worked, our parents prioritized and found time to bring us up with the religious education needed to pay the proper homage to our loving God, who loved us so much that he gave up his only son, Jesus, to suffer and die on the cross for my sins and the sins of mankind.
