Catholic Family Center will present the 2005 CFC Award to Tom Golisano at its annual St. Patrick’s Day Charity Gala, which will be held Friday, March 18, at the Hyatt Regency Rochester. The annual award recognizes someone who has demonstrated a spirit of devotion to human-service organizations in Rochester.
Golisano, who is the founder and former president and CEO of Paychex Inc., has a long history of philanthropy in the Rochester region. In recent years he has made charitable contributions to Nazareth College, Roberts Wesleyan College, the Rochester Institute of Technology, Thompson Health in Canandaigua and Rochester’s Strong Children’s Hospital, which is now called the Golisano Children’s Hospital.
Previous recipients of the award, which was instituted in 1992, include Bishop Matthew H. Clark, former Monroe County Sheriff Andrew Meloni and Roger Kober, retired chairman and CEO of Rochester Gas & Electric Corp.
Funds raised through the annual gala help ensure critically needed services will be available for the more than 62,000 men, women and children CFC assists each year.
March 4 is the last day to purchase advance tickets to the gala. Ticket prices start at $125 per person, and anyone purchasing tickets for $150 or $225 per person will be listed as patrons in the tribute advertising book. For more information, contact Janice at 585/262-7172.
