To the editor:
Thank you for your coverage of the Good Friday Cross Walk focusing on the evil of abortion. Unfortunately, there was an opportunity lost by not covering another Cross Walk as well, held on the same day on the city’s west side, beginning at Aenon Baptist Church. This walk emphasized other forms of violence which also plague our society today.
Stopping at various sites along Genesee Street, marchers, led by youth carrying the cross, stopped at schools, churches and community centers which not only recognize the violence prevalent in our community but also offered hope that comes with Easter Sunday. Jordan Health Center, Teen Empowerment, The Boys and Girls Club and St. Monica Church were among the seven stops remembering the Seven Last Words of Jesus. Both events deserved coverage.
