Greece business manager accused of embezzling from church

The business manager at St. Mark’s Church in Greece has been accused of embezzling more than $38,000 from the church, according to Greece Police.

Christopher Bush, 31, was charged Jan. 29 with third-degree grand larceny and first-degree falsifying business records, police said.

Bush was arraigned and released after posting bail. Greece Police said the investigation is ongoing.

In a statement, diocesan spokesman Doug Mandelaro said the diocese and St. Mark’s Church reported possible suspicious activity to the Greece Police Department and are cooperating fully with the investigation.

According to Father Louis Sirianni, St. Mark’s pastor, Bush is no longer employed by the parish.

"Because this matter involves an ongoing police investigation, we must decline further comment," Mandelaro’s statement said.
